TVC is happy to announce to you that on June 25, 2018 we will begin the process of transforming our expanded basic analog channels on the cable TV line-up to a digital format. The transition will move channels 25-76 that TVC currently cablecasts in an analogue format to a permanent digital home. Once the change is complete, customers will see a better video picture and sound quality for an all-around better viewing experience, and improvements in the Internet capabilities. Our basic (essentials) cable TV line-up will continue to be cablecast in analogue.
How does this affect our customers?
Customers who have a TVC digital converter will not be affected by this change and requires no action by customers for any television using a TVC digital converter.
Customers using their digital ready TV for reception of our expanded basic service, but do not use a digital converter should do a channel re-scan on their TV’s any time after June 25th to ensure they are receiving all the expanded basic channels in the digital format.
Some customers may still have an older and non-digital TV (not to be confused with cable ready TV) in use in their household. Those customers will need a TVC digital converter to view expanded basic digital channels. Customers needing a digital converter may go to their local TVC office or contact customer service 860-446-4009.
By August 1, all expanded basic channels TVC cablecasts in an analogue format will be replaced with the digital only format. TVC will begin shutting off the analogue version of our expanded basic channels in stages to allow customers an opportunity to re-scan their owned digital TV or obtain a digital converter. A schedule of the digital transformation is list below with the date and channels that will be affected.
